அறத்துப்பால் 

பாயிரம் 

1. கடவுள் வாழ்த்து

1. அகர முதல எழுத்தெல்லாம் ஆதி பகவன் முதற்றே உலகு.

All letters begin with ‘A,’ and so does the world begin with the Primal Lord.

2. கற்றதனால் ஆய பயனென்கொல் வாலறிவன் கற்றாள் தொழாஅர் எனின்

What is the benefit of learning if it does not lead one to worship the Supreme Being?

3. மலர்மிசை ஏகிளான் மாணடி சேர்ந்தார் நிலமிசை நீடுவாழ் வார்.

Those who embrace the sacred feet that dwell in the heart’s lotus will live long and prosper on this earth.

4. வேண்டுதல் வேண்டாமை இலானடி சேர்ந்தார்க்கு யாண்டும் இடும்பை இல

For those who surrender to the feet of the One beyond desires and aversions, there shall be no sorrow, ever

5. இருள்சேர் இருவினையும் சேரா இறைவன் பொருள்சேர் புகழ்புரிந்தார் மாட்டு

For those who seek the truth of the Divine, neither ignorance nor the dualities of good and bad karma can affect them.

6. பொறிவாயில் ஐந்தவித்தான் பொய்தீர் ஒழுக்க நெறிநின்றார் கீடுவாழ் வார்.

The verse teaches that those who control their five senses (eyes, ears, nose, tongue, and skin), resist worldly desires, and follow the path of truth and righteousness will live a long, honorable, and consistent life.

7.தனக்கு உவமை இல்லாதான் தான்சேர்ந்தார்க்கு மனக்கவலை மாற்றல் அரிது.

For those who have surrendered to the one who has no comparison (i.e., God, who is incomparable), it is difficult for others to remove their mental worries.
